Our History

In 1971 two widely respected Salt Lake City law firms, Mulliner, Prince & Mangum and Owen, Ward & Geldzahler, merged to form Prince, Yeates & Geldzahler. Prince, Yeates & Geldzahler has since grown to a team of over 30 lawyers, supported by talented paralegals and staff, who offer expertise and assistance in a broad range of legal issues to both businesses and individuals—many of them clients who measure our association not in years, but in decades.

While a number of our lawyers have spent their entire careers with Prince, Yeates & Geldzahler, others have joined us after successful stints with other prestigious firms or following governmental service or corporate endeavors. The product of our varied backgrounds is a diverse, yet symbiotic, firm practice. Our transactional lawyers provide counsel in business, intellectual property, tax, estate planning, employment, real estate, loan origination and environmental matters. Our litigators tackle disputes ranging from personal injury suits to complex commercial and class actions. Many of our lawyers bridge the transaction/litigation gap by offering seasoned expertise in bankruptcy reorganizations, loan workouts, domestic relations matters, mediation and arbitration. While we value our independence, we often consult with each other on thorny issues.

Our Approach

We are deliberate in our counsel, but aggressive in championing our clients’ interests. We are progressive in our use of technology for efficiency’s sake. We value our clients’ resources and bill for our services as if we were paying for them. Above all, we engage the full range of our resources—our knowledge, our experience, our time and our integrity—to find solutions to our clients’ challenges.
