
Jonathon T. Tichy
Licensed to practice law in Utah and Nevada, Jonathon Tichy has served business and individual clients in both states. His practice involves all aspects of civil litigation and appellate work. He has participated in numerous jury trials, arbitrations and mediations, and was co-counsel on a case that resulted in a record jury verdict in one Utah court.
Having spent six years abroad in various business, legal and governmental capacities, Mr. Tichy is certified fluent in the Slovak and Czech languages. In the late 1990s he worked for the United States Department of State as a political officer and analyst at the United States Embassy in Prague, Czech Republic. For his work there, he was awarded the prestigious Meritorious Honor Medal. He also served as the ranking staff aide to Assistant Secretary of State and Ambassador John Shattuck.
A cum laude J.D. degree graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, Mr. Tichy was selected as a National Balfour Scholar from among law students at the nation's top law schools. He was also a regional semifinalist in the Jessup Moot Court Competition in Hawaii and a top contender at the Vis Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria.
Mr. Tichy also holds a master's degree in public policy and is a published author of several articles and analytical surveys. In 1998 he was selected as a Fascell Fellow by the Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs in Washington, D.C. for his work in international and foreign policy. In 2004 he was appointed to the Board of Fellows for the International Center for Law and Religion Studies.
Mr. Tichy is active in the American Bar Association's Section of Litigation and is a national officer in the prominent Phi Delta Phi legal association. He is also an avid hockey fan and previously worked for an NHL hockey team in player relations and development.
