
James W. McConkie III
James McConkie is primarily involved in general civil and commercial litigation, with special emphasis in contract or business disputes, employment, trademark and unfair business practices matters.
Mr. McConkie also has experience in complex and class action litigation, having played a key role in two Federal Recieverships and a successful nationwide class action lawsuit against a Fortune 500 company.
Prior Professional Experience
Mr. McConkie's professional experience includes service as an adjunct instructor of Business Law at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. Mr. McConkie has also lectured at various European law schools on the subjects of U.S. commercial law and the jury system. Prior to joining Prince Yeates, Mr. McConkie worked as an analyst for the Central and East European Legal Initiative of the American Bar Association. There, he drafted the overall analysis for a variety of published works, including the ABA-CEELI Concept Paper on Judicial Independence. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. McConkie worked as a visiting associate with the international law firm of Cisar, Ceska, Smutny & Spol in Prague, Czech Republic handling commercial transaction and international arbitration matters.
