James Swindler practices primarily in bankruptcy reorganization, bankruptcy litigation, commercial litigation, fraud litigation, real estate, secured transactions and contract negotiation and drafting.

Having represented several of Utah’s large institutional lenders and other clients in matters in Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado, Washington and Hawaii, he has extensive experience representing creditors in complex foreclosures, Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, receiverships and other commercial litigation matters. These have involved highly diverse industries, such as mining, oil refining, electrical power generation, real estate development, housing, hospitality, aviation, agriculture, trucking, manufacturing, internet-related services and entertainment. He has also successfully reorganized a variety of entities in different industries in Chapter 11 cases. He has represented Chapter 7 trustees in various matters, including avoidance proceedings.

Mr. Swindler has also negotiated numerous real property and commercial contracts, loan transactions and complex workouts and drafted documents for such matters.

Prior Professional Experience
Mr. Swindler worked as law clerk to Chief Judge Aldon J. Anderson of the United States District Court for the District of Utah. He was a shareholder at Parr, Waddoups, Brown, Gee &      Loveless for fourteen years.
